Our journey

The story of SUNIR

SUNIR was born from a simple idea: bring local strengths together to help one another, share resources and act collectively for a fairer, more ecological community.

2022

The beginnings

SUNIR is founded by Magali Duburcq. The first social and ecological activities bring together several hundred people at a residence located at 2361 chemin du Parc, in Orford.

2023

Nonprofit status confirmed

The organization officially obtains its nonprofit status and continues to develop its activities around mutual aid, sharing and waste reduction.

2024

First location closes

In October 2024, the chemin du Parc house is closed and put up for sale due to the difficulty of adapting the building to regulatory requirements.

2025

A new chapter at the Orford Community Workshops

With the support of the Municipality of Orford and the commitment of volunteers, SUNIR resumes its activities at the Orford Community Workshops, a larger, more accessible space well suited to the mission.

Today, SUNIR keeps growing around four complementary services: helping each other, repairing, anti-waste and sharing. The journey continues thanks to everyone who contributes in their own way.
